英语学习：一个互动的英文学习网站

来到纽约之后，最深的感触就是英文不行。说来真是惭愧，从初一算起，虽然已经学了20多年英语，却根本无法将英语作为工作语言进行交流。对于英语口语不好，人们习惯归因于“国内没有好的语言环境”。但实事求是地讲，在网络世界高度发达的今天，这只是一种推脱责任的借口。
在语言学习中，听最为重要。任何小孩在学语言（包括所谓的母语）时，不都是先通过听-听懂，然后，才是说；再然后，才是读和写么？我们所谓的文盲，不照样可以侃侃而谈，口语交流无障碍么？因此，对于有志提高英语的朋友，我真心建议你：从网络上下载CNN,BBC，VOA……的音频或视频，给自己营造一个“国外的环境”，多听英语国家的人是如何讲英语的。很多人误以为出国就能学好英语。其实，置身国外，虽然到处都是外国人，找到一个能够坦诚交流的人却并不容易。因此，即使在国外，提高听力更多也还得靠电视和广播。

The tower of Babel

According to the Bible, the tower is located in Shinar. At that time, people made bricks, burn them thoroughly. They had bricks for stone, and bitumen for mortar. They built this tower with its top in heaven and want to make a name for themselves. The Lord saw the city and the tower made by mortals. And the Lord said,"Look, they are one people,and they have all one language;this is only the beginning of what will do;nothing that they propose todo will be impossible for them. Come,let us go down,and confuse their language there,so that they will not understand one another's speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. Therefore it was called Babel.
